Harris Auerbach is an equine industry consultant and bloodstock services advisor and has been engaged in the Thoroughbred Breeding and Racing Industry on a full-time basis in both California and Kentucky for over 20 years after being a lifelong fan of horses and racing.

Since 2017, Harris has successfully guided the transition of his family’s breeding operation M.Auerbach, LLC from a California-based breed-to-race operation into a Kentucky-based commercial breeding business.  Under his management, M.Auerbach, LLC. has bred or owned 17 Graded Stakes winners across both states and has gained notoriety in the sales arena with commercial success and sales toppers through the ring.

Harris served on the Board of Directors for the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association from 2012-2017, serving most of that tenure as the Board’s Vice Chairman while also occupying various seats on the Executive, Sales, Racing and Marketing Committees.  He was integrally involved in the enhancement of the California Breeders Golden State Stakes Series and overnight racing programs which furthered the expansion of state-bred racing in California.  Harris also served as a volunteer for several fundraising events for CARMA (California Retirement Management Account), a thoroughbred aftercare charity founded in 2007 by his mother, owner-breeder Madeline Auerbach.

Harris’s fulltime professional commitment to horse racing began in 2004 upon the Auerbach family’s decision to sell its 30-year-old furniture manufacturing company, JSA Corp, and focus on a burgeoning equine enterprise which included more than 100 thoroughbreds belonging to the Auerbach family and assorted partnerships with outside clients.   Most notable is Harris’s work as Stallion Manager for California’s All Time Leading Stallion Unusual Heat and the Auerbach Broodmare band. He is also known for being at the forefront of electronic and social media marketing for breeding and racing stock. 

Prior to 2004, Harris had worked for JSA for 13 years, eventually rising to the rank of Chief Operating Officer, following the attainment of his B.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Arizona in 1991.  

Auerbach currently resides in Southern California and with his wife Robin and is the proud father of two daughters, Jamie and Allison, and best friend to his trusty English Labrador sidekick Maverick.
